Antennas at VA7UL include:
- A long-boom Satellite/EME tracking array for 144 / 430 / 1296 MHz with a Yaesu G-5500 Az-El rotator and GS-232B Controller.
Mounted on a 20-foot tower with 9 foot mast. It is linked to my Mac Studio running the MacDoppler application which controls the
antenna array and an ICOM 9700 Transceiver.
- A Comet GP-98 Tri-band vertical for 144 / 430 / 1296 MHz, with switching between it and the satellite array on a single hard-line feed.
It is mounted at the top of the mast holding the satellite array.
- An M-Squared 2M5-440XP 2M / 70 cm Beam for experiments with a New Packet Radio modem and PA at 433 MHz.
Mounted on a Ham-IV rotator.
- Not shown in the picture below are a Comet CX-333 Tri-band vertical for 146 / 220 / 440 MHz , and a HyGain 14AVQ HF Vertical
- Shown below is a screen shot from my rooftop PTZ camera used to monitor the antennas as they track.
As you can see, the AC power lines run nearby, up the back lane behind the house. There have been no interference problems.
This city has a reputation of maintaining the power grid to a very high standard.
